NDB Upgrade - How Easy Can It Be!!!

** Take a snapshot of the NDB appliance prior to commencing upgrade **

Log on to the NDB console and confirm the health of the NDB databases and the overall environment.

Verify the current NDB version.

From the left-hand navigation menu, select “Settings”.

 Select “Maintenance”.

Select the desired NDB version, then select “Download”.

Once the download is complete, the status will change to “Downloaded”.

You are now ready to begin the upgrade.

Select the NDB version, then select “Upgrade Now”.

Select “Yes” when prompted to confirm.

The upgrade will begin, and you can monitor its progress under “Operations”.

Once the upgrade has completed successfully, “Complete” will appear against all child tasks.

Once the NDB appliance upgrade is complete, several additional operations will begin. These operations upgrade NDB components, including the agents on the database servers.

Wait for these operations to complete; this may take several minutes.

Confirm on the NDB Dashboard that there are no alerts. Investigate and remediate any alerts that are present.

Once you have validated the health of the environment, delete the snapshot taken before the upgrade.

This completes the NDB upgrade process—a quick procedure with no disruption to users or the business.

One-Click, ZERO Disruption Operation.

Nutanix .NEXT London 2026

What an incredible Nutanix .NEXT London 2026!

WOW — another great event, packed with insightful conversations and real-world perspectives on the future of enterprise technology.

I particularly enjoyed hearing from Andrew about how Nutanix is using its own technology to tackle the challenge of token costs. By leveraging their own platform, Nutanix has been able to significantly reduce costs without limiting developer capabilities — with the TCO benefits expected to be realised within a month. A fantastic example of technology delivering measurable business value.

There was also a great discussion around how Nutanix Enterprise AI is helping organisations scale intelligent workloads while maintaining governance, data sovereignty and predictable cost control.

The ability to deliver cloud-like AI capabilities on-premises through a private cloud platform — while maintaining feature parity with equivalent cloud solutions — provides organisations with greater choice and flexibility, particularly where security, sovereignty and control are critical.

It was also great to hear from Manosiz Bhattacharyya, CTO at Nutanix, who shared how Nutanix is helping organisations build modern, resilient and future-ready platforms for their applications and data.

Manosiz also provided valuable insights into Nutanix’s AI vision and roadmap, including how Nutanix is enabling customers to adopt AI pragmatically while maintaining the security, governance and operational simplicity that businesses require.

Another highlight was Parag Karnik, CTO Enterprise Platforms, who led the session “Driving Sustainable Business Outcomes: Choice, Flexibility, and the AI Advantage.”

Parag explored how organisations can:

  • De-risk operations through a platform mindset
  • Scale technology investments efficiently
  • Turn data into a competitive advantage
  • Accelerate AI initiatives without compromising governance or resilience

The session was followed by an excellent panel discussion with IT leaders sharing tangible, real-world experiences of navigating infrastructure transformation, maintaining resilience and accelerating AI adoption.

A great event with a clear message: AI adoption doesn't have to mean compromising on security, governance, flexibility or control.

Thanks to the Nutanix team for another fantastic .NEXT experience — lots to take away and plenty to think about! 🚀
